Promote Your Event on Australia’s Leading Tourism Websites for Free!

Did you know that you can list your event on website’s like Australia.com, Destination NSW and Visit Canberra for free?

Most of the leading destination tourism websites across Australia pull all their content from the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW). Never heard of the them? Well ATDW contains over 50,000 listings spanning Accommodation, Tours, Attractions, Destinations, Services and most importantly Events!

How does it work? Well Instead of submitting and updating your information to multiple sites, ATDW acts as a huge centralised database. Website’s like Visit Victoria, Tourism Tasmania and The Start List simply pull the latest information direct from ATDW. This means one change in ATDW updates your listing Australia wide!

Adding a listing to ATDW is also super simple and open to most mountain bike clubs, event organisers or business that puts on events that will attract visitors to their area.

Why list your event on ATDW?

  • Its totally free* to list your business and event
  • Your event will appear on your local destination tourism website ie Tourism Western Australia, Visit Canberra plus dedicated websites like The Start List
  • Your event will gain huge exposure to both Australian and Global audiences
  • Adding and updating your event is easy through ATDW’s online control panel

*Your local State Tourism Body may elect to charge an annual subscription. Currently Victoria is the only state doing this.

What do you need to create an event?

You’ll first need to first setup an Operator profile with ATDW, this is free and as long as you meet their criteria it takes around 30 minutes to set up if you have everything ready to go. Your profile is submitted to your local state tourism association for approval, this can take up to 24-48 hours.

You can jump straight in and add your events but you will need to wait for your profile and event to be approved before they are pushed live to the network.

You’ll need to have good hi-resolution images (min size is 1600x 1200 pixels). Images cant have text or logos so its definitely worthwhile making your hero image do the talking!

For each event you can specify a website, a ticket/registration link, email, telephone, social media and venue address.

This means you can keep the description clear and easy to understand.

The only down side of ATDW currently is the lack of categorisation, in fact the only option is currently “Sporting Event”. This makes it super important to include the words “Mountain Bike” and applicable discipline ie “Gravity Enduro” in the description.

What are you waiting for?

We’ve barely touched on the potential of ATDW and how it can make a huge difference to anyone putting on mountain bike events.
